I gamble most of the time when I am alone.
There are those who gamble for pass time. To forget their problems and entertain their own selves. Some who are heart broken spend time also in gambling so they dont focus on their emotions when they are busy of excited in gambling.
Sure, some people who have so much in life already and would not mind the little they are gambling will obviously not care and would just be passing away time, but the only unfortunate thing is that they are few and most people are really looking for how their luck can play out so they can end up winning a lot of money at the end of the day. For people like that, I guess it will only be adding to their grief, sorrow and all the negative things combined rather than curbing it.
