It is possible that it could have been obfuscated, but the real question is why would the creator obfuscate the code if they had nothing to hide at all? You could argue that it is against competitors, but there are none.
Monitored network activity under Chrome and didn't see the extension doing anything at all, let alone logging keystrokes...... I might look into that more if I have some time.
I'd love it if the author releases the source code. After all most of us are using some sort of proprietary software. I'm on Linux so I'm less worried
