There are of course various filtration methods but it is not so clear to me whether they actually work. I am concerned about the lack of scientific clarity on these methods that could be employed in the home. Unfortunately, though, many industrial activities will nonetheless pollute the waters no matter what we do at home. It may not be enough.
The situation in Europe varies from country to country. In Western Europe, the ground-water is mostly safe for human consumption. But in parts of Russia and Ukraine, the ground-water contains huge amounts of heavy metals such as Cadmium and Arsenic and this can be detrimental to the human health.
