So I purchased a bunch of PCN on coinexchange, trying to transfer it to the mac wallet. I downloaded the one in the link, along with the bootstrap, but when i load the wallet it just says it has 0 connections to the network after 24 hours. I tried creating a peepcoin.conf file with the list of nodes and saved it in text editor in the application support directory but then the wallet won't even open if the file is in the directory.
Don't use the bootstrap and the custom config at the same time. I'd suggest not using the bootstrap unless you don't get any connections on opening the wallet. If you do both you're likely to run into the issue you're having.
You will probably need to delete all the data in the Peepcoin data folder ("~/Library/Application Support/Peepcoin", if you've already transferred any coins to your wallet then
leave the file wallet.dat, but delete everything else) and then just try to start the wallet normally, with no extra config or bootstrap.
Tell me if it says no connections, if it does, then you need to create the custom config or download a copy from the discord and place it in the folder. The live node list can be found here:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pcn/#!network click on "Node list" and copy+paste this list to your Peepcoin.conf file.
Let me know if the above works for you, there's some lingering issues with the old peepcoin wallet that got ported over to the mac version. There's some issues with the mac build especially that need work, it works on only certain flavours of Mac without issues it seems. You should be getting many connections with an addnode list of over 100 nodes, that's for sure.
The current peepcoin wallet will be getting a much needed update and also we will be working on an electrum alternative, with plenty of testing before release. Apologies for the broken state of some things, we've got a bit of a project just fixing Peepcoin's old wallet! I always suggest never to transfer a coin, no matter the wallet, until you're fully sync'd and know you're on the right chain. It only takes being wrong once to lose coins!
