No idea in Asia there are not very much streaming service available, isn't Netflix operating there as well? 
As I know, asia is very active in applying new technology and I don't think that streaming services aren't much there.
They are probably talking about poorer regions of Asia. You are mostly talking about Japan and South Korea. But Asia is mostly nothing like them.
