Will Electroneum also change their Algo? Seems like theres 6 coins that are currently more profitable to mine based on
https://minecryptonight.net/ I have 2 purcahsed I can USD wire for tmmrw for but am hella nervous lol
I was curious about this as well since everyone seems focused on Monero only here, but with so many CN coins available for mining at $150+/day return, whats the fuss if Monero does fork? Is everyone concerned ALL of the other CN algos will as well? That doesnt seem logical to me. And with so many available coins to spread the ASICs across, it seems possible the profits wont diminish as much as anticipated, especially if these machines truly have been used on the network by Bitmain already like people believe. So will this guy stand to get his $12k back in 2.6 months?
Simple answer, once you use an X3 on another chain it will cause a difficulty spike, sure you might make a ton of coins for a few days but if that coins value doesn't increase once the chains difficulty adjusts, you'll be back to square one, making little profits but there is a "chance" you could cover you miners costs in a few days/weeks.
But the question is, do you think you're the only one out there with this idea? Do you have your eye on some cryptonight alt coin that you think no one is paying attention to? If you do and you're right, you
may make some serious coin and profit. However, if you're wrong and dozens or hundreds of others have the same idea as you and they get their miner before you or you all turn on your miners on at the same time, you'll make profits for days at best then be stuck with 5-7k or more to break even by the time difficulty adjusts.
Bottom line is that you
could make money from an X3 Batch 1 or 2 if you are
lucky but it's more probable that you will lose money.
