I think a lot of people keep forgetting that stellar can run smart contracts as well, and it was already used for some ICOs as well, because it can. It also has the IBM partnership and it's still a very under-evaluated coin in my opinion. I don't really know how they would handle scalability, but the ICOs that chose it over ethereum, one of them raising around $39M, said that they preferred that platform because it would be faster than ether to run their product.
