This is due to the ongoing transfer of shares from BTC-TC to Bitfunder. So, before dividends are paid out on Wednesday of next week all transfers of shares to bitfunder will have to be completed. Is that simply because of the extra days or has something else happened?

This is just due to the transfer issue, with the way dividends work on the exchange. Since the shares are in limbo, being moved from one exchange to the other it would be hard to pay the dividends. So we are waiting until after everything is settled.
