lol, glad I wasn't the only one to notice that. Many assembly plants wouldn't let you in the door with sandals on. And not just on grounds of taste! 
The guy with the Adidas at least have some ESD straps attached to the shoes. The guy with the sandals probably have to stay out of the ESD safe zone.
