Well I think it is true that demanding high prices is pretty much being selfish, but I think that is depending in how they use bitcoin. If they use bitcoin for holding and for earning money from the skyrocketing, then it is natural for them to demand high prices. It can also attract investors so it is a good thing to have a high price.
