Thanks.  So it's possible some of the issues are more related to dual mining?  I haven't tested single mining.

BTW new optional drivers came out yesterday (18.3.3) and they did seem to need pixel clock patcher even with RX580s.  OverdrivenTool wouldn't work without the patch. Or maybe user error? That's always possible.
