To get an idea of how many are in the same boat, see how quickly the service called ForBitcoins (referenced by Brad just a couple replies up) has grown in just a few weeks:

Technology is moving us towards a more collaborative, peer-to-peer economy.  

We can rent out a room for the night ( http://www.airbnb.com ) or serve dinner from our homes ( http://www.housefed.com ).  We can share with a neighbor ( http://www.neighborgoods.com ) for free or for a fee, and also extend that offer to others as well ( http://www.rentalic.com ).

In addition to the "task related" services described above ( http://www.zaarly.com and http://www.coffeeandpower.com ) here's an example of another novel approach:

Though none of these peer-to-peer services have implemented Bitcoin (yet), that's likely coming:
