While I think there might be another coin with better tech that overtakes Ethereum in the future, it is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Most tokens are on the ethereum network, a lot of trades are done using eth as the base currency, it is is still the number 2 coin after bitcoin in terms of importance in my opinion.
