What is the reason for doing this? Do they intentionally do this so that even they can invest in Bitcoin and make some profit?

Because bitcoin do not jive with the current system the government and other people with power has established and we all know that media is biased and being manipulated by these people, its become a tool to manipulate information rather than deliver real news and stories.
