For the Easter egg hunt - these are my guesses (I hope they're right).

Hardware:
The hex string on the edge of the m-board is part of the coinbase parameter from the Genesis Block (Block 0) on the main network.

Which decodes to: 04ffff001d0104 + "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancell"

See: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Genesis_block

Software:
By default, in /opt/bitfury/proxy_pools.conf
The usernames for each pool is set to the Bitcoin Foundation's donation address (Seen here - 1BTCorgHwCg6u2YSAWKgS17qUad6kHmtQW)

I am going to complete your unfinished solution Smiley

Block #   coinbase   Link
1   04ffff001d0104   https://blockexplorer.com/rawblock/00000000839a8e6886ab5951d76f411475428afc90947ee320161bbf18eb6048

First block ever solved on the network, 2009-01-09 02:54:25   - this block and its 50coins were mined by satoshi (they are still unspent within the address)

The genesis block (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Genesis_block) contains the phrase "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks"
