Honestly, not all of us could hold bitcoin for more than 3 years because we cannot avoid spending a lot of money in a day or a month, aslong it is our needs. But if a person already has more than 3 bitcoin i think that person can hold bitcoin for more than 3 years without any difficulty in spending their money.
