Don't know if anyone has gotten wifi to work but I have with one of my old dongles:
Ssh into your rig and run these commands:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install network-manager
sudo service network-manager start
sudo nmgui
From there you can choose your wifi and enter creds. This isn't a
should you run wifi post, but you can if you need to. For one of my rigs I have to run wifi and this has been solid for a week.
Not all dongles are going to work. I have two and only my old linksys dongle seemed to work correctly.
Disclaimer: I hold no responsibility for what happens when you run those commands, but they should be safe. Like I said, my rig has been fine afaik.
I have been using this Netgear AC1200 Range Extender for over a month and have had no lost connections. I just use a short cat6 cable from the extender to my rig.
