So, not really sure what is going on here, but I can confirm that manually selecting paste from the right-click menu in the title bar does, indeed, paste text into both the password and recovery seed prompts in the wallet.

Aww, come on - snappy responses make life more interesting!
That said, thinking on this some more I wonder if the wrong console library was used to compile the new wallet, because copy-n-paste works exactly as it did back in Windows 7... Unfortunately I am an EE by profession, and my knowledge of C/C++ extends just past my ability to spell them correctly.
