I think there are two reasons:
1) Ethereum has a very powerful dev team and community, the platform is very reliable and easy to use.
2) Ethereum are widely accepted by the investor to buy ico tokens, I think most exchanges has eth/usdt pair, that means the investor can easily to buy ico tokens by eth.
