- Politeness was how many times you used "please", "sir", "pardon", "apprecia*", "may I", "thanks", and "thank you" in past posts. This is poking a bit of fun at the people who are unnecessarily polite like this.
'Unnecessarily' polite? This is my first time of hearing that using those words mean that the other person is been unnecessarily polite. Those words are kind gestures and are most times used to show appreciation for services received or rendered.
This is a faceless forum and I believe its the only way to show appreciation for any good deeds you receive here.
What do you think the world will become if those words cease to be or never spoken. Psychological, gratitudes have a huge effect on a person character. And its not just about this forum but about the world entirely. It's about passing good deeds.
I understand that most people are using those words to get favor from the other person but we shouldn't generalize.
It means overdoing it. Saying please and thank you isn't unnecessary but doing it over and over in the same post and throwing in a few Sirs as well can be a bit over the top. There's a certain type of poster on this forum that displays that trait.
