Might be a dumb question but figured I would ask

It was stated that they would charge higher fees to some of the transactions and he believed it would benefit the miners.
So my question is:
If Verge has a Max of 16,555,000,000 coins and currently has 14,779,045,946 circulating, how can they continue to mine once it hits the max?
Would they have to add more coins to the max, but wouldn't that most likely lower the value of the coin?
With "they" I assume you mean miners - as in those that verify transactions and get paid for doing that. I suggest reading up on how and what miners do.
