with firmware 0.9.5 I get a difference of ~45 Gh/s between closed and open case (~480 Gh/s vs. ~525 Gh/s).
going to try firmware 0.9.6 with closed case.

EDIT: in the meantime firmware 0.9.5 did reach 516.16 Gh/s with closed case. it seems to me it takes a while until it adjust to the max. level with closed case. my impression is with open case adjustment of max. level is faster.
550 open case in bsmt at 62 degrees F with a small stand alone fan blowing from left front corner to back right corner of unit at an angle to the fans/heat sinks...in order to get air circulating by the unit w/o messing up air flow of core fans....that got me to 550gh on .95 (again has been running w/o interruption since Friday when I put it up..why mess with success)
