The fact that drug abuse is so prevalent these days is a reflection on society. So many people are disconnected and lead meaningless lives and they turn to whatever they have around to self medicate in the hope of escape from their meaningless lives.

The drug users are just a symptom though, often there's a chain of people above them making fortunes from selling drugs. Politicians, government agencies and the whole food chain below.

In Australia we're seeing that much crystal meth (Ice) being imported from China it's hard to believe that the Chinese government doesn't unofficially endorse it.
