Without money and the pricing mechanism, there is a huge problem -- no one has any idea of what to make, how much, when, and where to send it. A money system in free markets creates a communications network that transmits this sort of information so as to permit an efficient allocation of resources. That is a vastly complex problem, and without money it simply cannot be solved with any kind of efficiency. Maybe in a commune with 50 people that can rely on help from outside, but certainly not in a world of 6 billion people that has to do everything for itself.
Without money a modern, complex economy is not possible. There were no complex economies before money was invented.
