Few weeks back Asus GTX1070 also have similar issue. Temperature error + BSOD after running for a while.

Found out that the SATA cable melted slightly and became faulty. Replaced with a high quality cable and so far no issue. (Uninstalled and reinstalled Driver Version 388.13).

Note: From my experience, Asus cards tends to draw more power that other brands.
