When I look at the PS for my D-Ling 7 port it's claims to be 2.5 amps. That's why they run 5 miners. The Rosewill 520 10 port well run 8 miners. I'm working on converting a atx psu for a 30+ amp 5 volt supply.
you put to much through you could fry the hub...
So I should disconnect it from my car battery?
it dosnt really matter on that side its how much power goes through the little circuits inside the hub. on cheap hubs the little circuits can get hot when to many usb ports ask for to much power which can fry the hub circuits or worse melt them creating a dangerous short
also car batterys are 12 or 24v so would blow all the miners and the hub as there probably 5v but if its a 12v hub then you could run it off a 12v car battery
