So, regarding asking for someones address, so because it's public that means there is the ability to trace transactions I suppose, to see where the funds might have gone?
You would need the originating address as well as the receiving address?
Addresses are public, but typically no one knows which one or ones you are linked to,
Once you know someone is linked to an address then you can use the explorer and look up:
how much money they currently have in that address, how much has been sent and received,
and the full transaction history, you can dig deeper and find out what other addresses may be linked to the address.
