even when attacked from the inside by blockstream/core it just forks and offers two chains. at least one will continue delivering p2p electronic money to the people with low fees. maybe both? we'll see. 
yes you are right I think bitcoin can not be stopped because I think bitcoin has a limited total supply and bitcoin also has a very high demand and if you realize the demand from year to year increases that means it can trigger a rise in bitcoin prices and will never be in can to stop bitcoin.
