What is the reason for doing this? Do they intentionally do this so that even they can invest in Bitcoin and make some profit?

Because media is just a news spreader and they don't investigate much as long as they have something to share with public. It is their job to spread news regardless of it's effect. I believe that they are still clueless about the greatness of this long term investment that's why most of them always spread negative comments about it.
