Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors. Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ?
More people use fiat for those purpose than those who use bitcoins for them. However media who want exposure will just publish articles about how criminals use bitcoins for such purpose just to get a click from those who aren't involved in bitcoin and curious about it.
Also there're people using bitcoin over fiat in e.g. online transactions because they can't trust a bank so they don't have a credit card. They thus use bitcoin as a medium of payment. Others may just get advantage from some sites offering bonuses to customers paying with bitcoin.
People prefer Bitcoin over fiat because of its blockchain technology. Bitcoin has a features of security control, availability and faster transaction with lesser charges. When it come to misuse of Bitcoin it depend upon the person on how he or she use it iether in bad or good coz I know that he or she are responsible to thier action.
