There are other aspects of the coin that are highly dubious.

Yea that might be true, but I am more concerned about someone dipping their hands in my pocket. I am trying to run away from that. I looked at many coins and a lot of them have questions. For now I put in bytecoin what I can afford to loose. Instead of smoking a pack of cigarettes a day, do half take the other half and gamble. I would love the devs to stay anonymous, no one to squeeze.
One day it might be used to do commerce, who knows

I don't think you have to worry about malicious code. The worry from my part is that the evidently shady Bytecoin team can get hold of your money by some neat marketing/social engineering. We know they don't address the vast number of Bytecoin sockpuppets. They never properly addressed rethink-your-strategies long post either. That should tell you how unscrupulous they are.

Based on the technology we can't know who owns what, and if my math is correct there is less than 2 billion on exchanges. That might make it look bad, but this is the grand daddy, as cryotnote goes you are not going to know if it is really fairly distributed. There is an element of trust that you are going to have to afford to it.
if they (by some neat marketing/social engineering) your research and others like you will keep us on our toes or keep an eye on our pocket.

Give your thoughts on digital notes.
