Yes it is a fine way of tallying a total because they have no other information. You could say hey I posted 30 times this week but only got credit for 9. How would you or they prove or disprove anything you said? For that reason you go with what is front of you, and besides it isn't hard to be on topic and realize which boards will probably get deleted.
