From somebody's point of view, it could also be true. To be fair with these people who are not yet deeply involved with Bitcoin, they must be wondering why the price is so high and yet there is really nothing valuable in a monetary way that each Bitcoin is representing. This was also my question before I came into Bitcoin and trusted it. But it seems to me that the value comes basically from the agreement among people, and eventually of the rising demand.
