Well, I'm also from Belgium and i come to the same conclusion as the topicstarter. Besides my boss, who is really into technology, it's hard to find someone who truly gets the concept of Bitcoins. It's new for me also, hard to figure some things out, but I think I got it 
I'm currently developing a website (informational) targeting the Belgian population, so let's hope this goes well (I'm not to good at marketing :p). It's also a way for me to summarize everything of Bitcoin.
