In actual it is a type of mentilty and also a wise descion because many people are earning bitcoins without spending a small worth of money and they just want earn bitcoin only instead of worth of bitcoin because they know exactly very well that what is bitcoin .
So they are seeing that at which price they are buying and selling , so many of that type of people are buying altcoins at low price and I don't think that they are doing anything wrong with this move toward altcoins .
But still here i would like to suggest to all those starter for the trading to not to buy altcoins right now in bulk because net portfolio matters much then what they will get at the end .
