Its hard for me to believe this. How many people have you seen committing suicide? 20?
Um, that does happen in problem gamblers. It's well documented. Have I seen it myself? No, but I also know the world doesn't cease to exist when I turn out the lights at night, meaning just because I've not observed something, it doesn't mean that something doesn't happen. It is also true that people with borderline personality disorder have a high suicide rate and I don't know any of them either.
I'm not so sure the willpower aspect of Aikidoka's treatise on overcoming gambling is a prudent approach. That would essentially be trying to use willpower to overcome a problem...with willpower. That's why organizations like Gamblers Anonymous exist, which shift the solution to a source that is outside of the gambler's head, where the problem exists in the first place.
