Cause it's blockchain/online-gold and a trendsetter and not promising anything else, so no reason to wait for anything and since it's so old so many people are holding it, which is a process acceslerating itself....not even talking about the 2017 hype. Hard to imagine another single cryptocurrency becoming as dominant in the market - too many different concepts and long-term-ideas...with all included advantages and disadvantages.
