Litecoin was one of the first altcoins to appear so it was heavily inspired by the ideas behind Bitcoin. In fact, it is made to be the currency that will address the major drawbacks of Bitcoin.
However with the current price at $151 only did you think it has a high probability of increasing in price drastically possibly competing with bitcoin in the future as a means of storing value??
Bitcoin was the first, litecoin just copied and modified it. Strange enough, but these kinds of things seem to matter in this community. Creating ltc was a lot easier than coming up with the whole idea of a cryptocurrency. I think the price might return to $300, but litecoin can hardly compete with bitcoin, because it is not much of an improvement in comparison with it. That's why I would recommend you to buy bitcoin instead, but surely that is solely your decision to make.
