I guest you mention already almost all of the reasons why bitcoin is the most dominant crypto currency of all, i just want to add also the because bitcoin is the center of almost all exchanger. And in some exchanger before you can change to another crypto you have to convert your altcoin first to bitcoin before you can buy deferent altcoins or even cash out.
