it can be said vice-versa, us seems to hate many countries without knowing anything about them ( for reference check no. of weapons of mass destruction found in iraq). the interventionist policy of poking the nose in every conflicts seems to have a backfiring effect as we can see. also involving itself in every major war possible and not founding any concrete results ( see rise of taliban & isis) has to do alot for the reputation. you can bully people only to an extent not further then that, we are witnessing some of those things right now.
