Bitcoin as a peer to peer network is hard to bring down. As long as people are willing to use it, bitcoin is staying for good. We should remember that it is only in its early stages of development and there is an increasing number of people getting involved in it. Bitcoin, being open source adds flexibility to the system. I think the concept of cryptocurrency in general, will never be abandoned. I believe that bitcoin will only pave the way to a much more advanced medium of exchange that the future society needs.
