Just fired up my L3++ that came last night. I as many figured it would just be the L3+ overclocked, but decided to buy one for science so that I could report back. Here is what I found:
- Hardware Version: 1.0.1.3 - This is the same as other recent L3+ machines I've gotten. I have one L3+ from an early batch which was at 1.0.1.1
- Frequency: 450
- Chip Temps - Out of the box I'm seeing temps at 68-69. Other recent L3+ machines I've gotten I have at 438, those are running at 56-59.
- Hash Rate - Have only been running for 30 minutes, but it's current average is 584.54, other recent machines I've gotten are at 570@438
- Fan Speed - I haven't adjusted fan's on either box. I noticed that the new L3++ was at 3,300 and the newer L3+ is at 4,230
- Power At Wall - Sorry, I am not currently measuring this.
In summary, I think people's suspicions were correct. I think I just paid 506 (606 - 100 coupon) for the same box I got for 262 (462 - 200 coupon) for a while back.
here is an open source firmware fix that likely does the same thing as Bitmain did to overclock (slightly) the 'supposed' L3++
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3546316.0I don't code..but to my untrained eye....looks like a person could compare the L3++ with this freeware firmware (above thread) and 'tweak'
(without a lot of risks) your L3+ to be around these new L3++ factory out of the box specs...
I leave this to better minds than myself, but figured the threads could be useful for something like this ..to those MORE in the know than me!
(ie everybody)
