Probably this will happen, but not today. ETH is far from BTC and no chance to beat BTC as the mainstream digital currency at the moment. I hope it'll happen someday or near future because I really believe in ETH. I am a fanboy of ETH because it gave me huge profit when it reached the highest value last 2017.
