In my opinion, if its a short time investment, you can consider alternate coins. You can always buy low and sell high if yiu are planning ontrading it. Investing on ICO has a lot of ROI. Just do some research before investing you money on IC. For bitcoin, it will require a lot of time before earning money bot unless you have a huge capitalto play with.
As far as the statics goes and what have witnessed from my very own eyes, bitcoin has shown the most growth rate so far. It was able to touch 20k dollars from 8k dollars within weeks. Other than this, nobody can deny the fact that the whole market or most of the altcoins depend on bitcoin for gaining value and surviving in this crypto market. You can take example of the altcoin king. Eth has no life without BTC.
