This is really unfortunate.
I highly recommend you safeguard yourself if you let somebody else crack your password. 95% of passwords are really not that hard to crack when it comes to the general population. Things get tricky when it comes to truly random-ish passwords that are longer. That is almost never the case though. I even found one of my old pw |23p34t. (repeat. In geek speak). THC-Hydra for networked cracking and “John The Ripper” for more or less everything else are the two I used the most. You can tweak the code to w/e you need to crack. There are dictionaries out there that are over 10GB but an optimized one for your way of thinking and language would be recommend.
