In my experience, the visual design actually takes longer than the HTML/CSS (I can slice a PSD and make clean, compliant code for an entire site in like 8 hours). It's sort of a whole process, and definitely more valuable than the equivalent of $65 worth of Bitcoins. I'd be very surprised if it was 5 BTC total and not per hour.

I think it's the constant revision that costs the time? I know after a while of having clients who kept changing their minds, we basically wrote it into the quotation, after selecting a concept, 1 preview, 1 revision. Any redesign cost money, any further revision cost money. Otherwise for those low margin high volume deals, it doesn't make any sense.

The coding part, I was more thinking of implementing all the nonsense that people tend to want nowadays and a lot of visual designers don't think about the practical implementation of some of the fanciful ideas they get. Cheesy
