What's the best way to get into mining if my computer isn't that great?

Well, like others already said we'd need to know your specs.
But most likely it won't make sense to mine on bad hardware except your PC is running 24/7 anyway.
Otherwise you'll just decrease the lifetime of your hardware and won't get more profit than you pay for electricity.
I would suggest you to invest in cloudmining. Instead of you mining from you pc GPU or CPU.
You invest X amount of money in a cloudmining service that will mine coins for you
in exchange of a fee on your earning or you can build a mining rig.

Cloudmining doesn't make sense and most likely you'll pay more than you earn.
Building a mining rig would make more sense if you get the hardware for cheap (don't forget to do some calculations about profitability and don't forget electricity; one advantage of a mining rig is that you can resell your hardware which is hard for ASICs)
