Yes gambling loses and wins.But winnings its such often because of luck and skills of gambling.Gambling needs also skills so that youre not always a loser.But sometimes if were always a loser we are on bad luck.Often Loser will lead us to a worst life until we lose everything in our lives.
Winning in gambling mostly depends on luck but before that we need to understand what is gambling,OP says that he want to get back his lost amount in gambling but this is a wrong strategy in gambling,if someone made loss on someday then accept the loss and move on if you try chasing the lost amount then it may resulted in more losses.So always have a bankroll for gambling then play until it get exhausted and the budget for gambling depends on each personals earning or wealth.
