Minutes of Eth meeting where they discuss ProgPOW (the developers of which are on the phone)-- seems that there is a chance:

Thank you for sharing those meeting minutes. I saw something on twitter about this, but it's much better to be able to read it for myself. What they are discussing is mostly over my head but I'm encouraged that they are seriously looking into this.

Of course--Oh God A Girl was in the RVN Discord earlier and said she thought they were at least receptive. I think the key is that much of the work is already done, and the IfDefElse team is prepared to tailor it to them so they don't have to expend too many resources.

This will probbaly be implemented in the next release if anything  , assuming they can push through but this would not happend for a while.  I would be nice though just to bright those hundreds of thoundsands of E3 chips and the F3 we all know is ramping up soon

this could cost shitmain millions

VB changed his mind? I thought he opposed suggestions that Ethereum needs a hardfork to make the network ASIC resistant as Monero did. He said "..the threat of centralization is negligible...."

I don't think he has the final say on this , like all development teams they discuss the pros and cons and if this EIP 1057 can be implemented with a mininal impact on his POS holy grail I can't see how  he would have a problem , He does not have the final vote
there would have to be a consensus on implementing it though.  The fact that they are researching it is promising though.
