Only exchange I fell confident to leave coins to be forked is binance and even so I d rather have it on my wallet.
That goes for all coins in general

About electronero generate one paper wallet and leave your ETN there , after the fork recover your etn and ONLY AFTER ETN in a new/app wallet, look for the ETNX.
That's how I will do it.
